Founder of the GC Elite Türkiye Barış Agun has been a business development professional for 27 years. He is a strategic thinker and knowledgeable in everyday business development and marketing activities with a creative, enthusiastic, and innovative approach. He actively researches market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and building strategic relationships with potential partners for clients.
Prior to starting BA Business Development Agency in August 2024, Barış was the business development manager for the Legal 500 in Türkiye for four years. His excellent interpersonal and communication skills, analytical abilities and his passion for the country that he loves enabled him to build and retain high-value relationships with both private practice law firms and in-house legal counsel.
With over 150 law firm and over 500 in-house legal counsel relationships Barış identified many opportunities to grow the Legal 500's brand with innovative, creative solutions generating sustained growth for the Turkish legal market. In four years Barış organised and hosted over 30 events and conferences across İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir. Highlights include three GC Powerlist events which recognised in-house legal counsel excellence - the last one in May 2024 attracting over 260 attendees. The first ever legal conferences in Ankara and İzmir. The first ever GC Academy events for junior in-house legal counsel, mentorship events with law students and the first ever two day conference for both in-house legal counsel and C-Level management which attracted over 300 attendees. This was also the largest conference hosted by the Legal 500 outside of the UK.
Under the BA Business Development Agency brand, Barış is fully committed to both the Turkish legal market and the continuation of future leading events and conferences in the jurisdiction. The GC Elite Türkiye will become a key annual event in the calendar, recognising both the excellence and talent of the Turkish in-house legal community both nationally and to the wider international audience.
